Context
As part of Data Center and technical building design projects, the Electrical Design Engineer (Power Systems) works within an engineering consultancy to ensure the design and sizing of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical power installations.
The role is involved in projects with high requirements in terms of service continuity, energy performance, and infrastructure reliability.
Main Responsibilities
- Design of power electrical (CFO) installations for Data Center and technical building projects
- Carrying out sizing and calculation studies (cables, protections, electrical networks)
- Preparation of calculation notes and technical documentation
- Drafting technical specifications and written deliverables
- Cost estimation and budgeting of CFO (power systems) packages
- Contributing to technical choices in line with operational constraints
- Interfacing with internal teams, technical partners, and site/construction teams
Profile Sought
- Degree: Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in an engineering consultancy, on technical building or Data Center projects
- Site/construction experience is a plus
- English proficiency is desirable
- Strong knowledge of low voltage (LV) is required; medium voltage (MV/HTA) knowledge is an advantage
Key Skills
- Strong fundamentals in theoretical sizing calculations (cables, protections)
- Technical knowledge of Main Low Voltage Switchboards (TGBT) and electrical panels
- Technical knowledge of generators (gensets)
- Technical knowledge of UPS systems and batteries
- Ability to write structured technical documentation
- Electrical package cost estimation and budgeting
- Rigor, autonomy, and strong analytical skills
