Context

As part of tertiary-sector projects, the Fire Safety Systems (FSS) Engineer / Design Technician contributes to the design and optimization of fire detection, fire safety, and fire protection systems.
The role involves preparing technical studies, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and providing design documentation to project teams and partners.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and size fire safety and fire protection systems (water mist, sprinkler systems, etc.)
  • Analyze input data to propose appropriate technical solutions
  • Prepare and update design documents: system diagrams, drawings, technical specifications (CCTP), cost estimates (DPGF), and project documents (PPT)
  • Verify compliance with standards and regulations: NF S 61-931, APSAD, FM Global, ERP regulations
  • Act as an interface with project, methods, construction teams, and clients
  • Participate in coordination with on-site teams and follow up on field feedback
  • Draft and present technical documentation to stakeholders

Required Profile

  • Degree: Associate’s to Master’s level (Bac +2 to Bac +5) in Fire Safety, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a design office or on complex tertiary projects
  • Proficiency in both English and French
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety and fire protection standards and regulations
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, and propose technical solutions
