Glazing / Façade Designer (J25-229)

Location: Île-de-France
Sector: Metal Construction / Façades / Architectural Glazing

Main Mission

The Glazing / Façade Designer contributes to the design and technical modeling of complex metal and glass structures (façades, glass roofs, curtain walls, lightweight structures) for large-scale architectural and industrial projects.
They translate the engineers’ and architects’ design intentions into precise execution drawings that can be used by workshops and construction teams.
Their role is essential to ensure the quality, compliance, and manufacturability of the structures.

Main Responsibilities

1. Design and Modeling

  • Produce general, detailed, execution, and manufacturing drawings.

  • Develop 3D models using Tekla Structures or SolidWorks.

  • Integrate structural, thermal, acoustic, sealing, and expansion constraints into the design.

  • Participate in design reviews with engineering, calculation, and architectural teams.

2. Technical Coordination

  • Work closely with structural engineers, architects, thermal engineers, and site managers.

  • Manage technical interfaces with other trades (civil works, joinery, waterproofing, HVAC, etc.).

  • Participate in client review meetings and adjust drawings based on feedback or site constraints.

  • Propose optimized technical solutions (profiles, assemblies, fixing methods).

3. Technical Documentation and Deliverables

  • Produce manufacturing and installation drawings, bills of materials, and cutting lists for workshops.

  • Provide reservation and anchoring drawings for other technical trades.

  • Prepare as-built documentation (DOE) and operation manuals (diagrams, detail books, test reports).

4. Site Follow-up and Support

  • Provide technical support to the site manager during installation.

  • Conduct on-site surveys and verify compliance between drawings and actual conditions.

  • Participate in coordination meetings and manage technical modifications.
