The Mechanical Engineer plays a strategic role in the execution of industrial projects. He/she supervises, validates, and disseminates technical expertise on mechanical equipment, particularly during basic and detailed engineering phases.
He/she works on rotating equipment, vessels (pressurized or not), refractories, duct geometry, as well as structures and piping.
This position requires involvement throughout the project lifecycle, from engineering to commissioning.


Mission

Engineering Activities

• Develop the mechanical design basis in line with durability objectives.
• Design vessels, ducts, structures, refractories, and piping.
• Review and validate technical datasheets for equipment proposed by EPCMs and OEMs.
• Identify improvements in technical specifications.
• Define a sustainable and secure mechanical maintenance philosophy.
• Provide technical support for permit applications and modeling (energy, environmental, efficiency).
• Control and approve mechanical engineering deliverables issued by third parties.
• Participate in technical studies (HAZID/HAZOP) and support supplier selection.
• Evaluate procurement, assembly, and commissioning costs for equipment.

Project Activities

• Support project management in technical procurement procedures.
• Conduct supplier visits and provide technical feedback on OEMs.
• Ensure active presence on-site during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Intervene internationally in case of critical technical issues.
• Produce engineering documentation (drawings, specifications, diagrams, analyses).
• Report regularly to management on activities.
• Apply the standards of the Quality Management System.
• Contribute to experience feedback (writing REX sheets).


Profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in a complex industrial environment, ideally in the mentioned sectors.
• Strong expertise in mechanical equipment (rotating, static), piping, ducts, and refractories.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and international industrial standards.
• Skilled in reading and analyzing complex technical documentation.
• Proficiency in both French and English (written and spoken).
