Low-Current Systems Design Engineer (J25-084)

Education:
Master’s degree (BAC +5) preferred, with minimum 10 years of experience
Subsystems involved: Telephony/intercom, CCTV, Fire Safety System (FSS), Public Address, RMS, CADI, ticketing systems, BMS (Building Management System)


Main Responsibilities:

Needs Analysis

  • Draft a CFA (low-current systems) assumptions note based on terminal requirements

  • Understand project needs and constraints according to applicable standards

  • Analyze existing systems to identify potential optimizations

  • Propose cost-saving technical solutions

Low-Current Installation Design

  • Create CFA schematics for each low-current subsystem

  • Define interface diagrams between CFA and other technical trades (CET)

  • Prepare a list of CFA equipment and quantities

  • Design layouts for CFA terminals

Technical Specifications

  • Specify all equipment required for the installation in a bill of materials, detailing the nature, properties, and quantities

  • Perform technical and financial analysis of supplier offers

Project Monitoring

  • Ensure compliance with specifications, safety rules, and applicable regulations

  • Lead technical meetings with other project trades (CET)

  • Provide technical support; update execution plans to reflect on-site constraints, unforeseen issues, or new client requirements

  • Participate in commissioning phases, write CFA test protocols, and perform on-site technical inspections

  • Compile and deliver project close-out documentation
