Context
As part of nuclear projects with high technical and regulatory requirements, the Senior LV Design Engineer is responsible for the design and technical justification of low-voltage electrical installations.
The position requires full autonomy in conducting studies, strong command of applicable standards, and the ability to collaborate with various technical disciplines.
Technical Responsibilities
- Carrying out LV electrical distribution studies (Main LV switchboards, sub-distribution boards, auxiliary power supplies).
- Producing power balance calculations and sizing installations (cables, protection devices, selectivity, short-circuit, voltage drop).
- Defining the electrical architecture while integrating safety and availability requirements.
- Preparing and reviewing single-line and multi-line diagrams.
- Writing calculation notes and supporting technical documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable standards (NF C 15-100, IEC, nuclear regulatory frameworks).
- Coordinating with automation, control-command, and instrumentation teams.
- Participating in supplier technical analyses and design reviews.
Tools Required
- Caneco BT / Caneco EP (LV network sizing)
- SEE Electrical / AutoCAD Electrical (electrical schematics)
- AutoCAD (layout drawings)
- Document management tools and advanced office software (technical Excel, parameterized calculations)
- Knowledge of automation hardware tools and panel design is an asset.
Profile Required
- Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Electrical Engineering.
- Significant experience in an LV design office, ideally within a nuclear environment.
- Ability to manage complex studies independently.
- Strong technical rigor and mastery of standards.
- Analytical mindset and ability to justify and defend design choices.
