Role Overview

For a strategic project in Libya involving the operational management and oversight of a port and associated free zone, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate large-scale infrastructure and operational activities.

The role requires strong leadership capabilities, extensive experience in complex infrastructure environments, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in an international context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all project phases related to port and free zone operations and development.
  • Coordinate engineering, operational and administrative teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule and performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with stakeholders, authorities and partners.
  • Monitor risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide structured reporting to senior management and project sponsors.
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the port and free zone environment.

Required Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mandatory).
  • Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience.
  • At least 5 years in a similar leadership role, preferably within port infrastructure, logistics, or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • PMP certification is considered an advantage.
  • Proven ability to operate in international and high-complexity environments.
