Project Planner – Railway Infrastructure (Ref. J25-130)

Mission Context:

As part of a major railway project (new line or infrastructure upgrade), we are looking for an experienced Project Planner to manage the full scope of scheduling, coordination, and progress monitoring using Primavera P6. The role requires close collaboration with the construction, methods, and project management teams.

Main Responsibilities:

Project Scheduling:

  • Build and structure the overall project schedule in Primavera P6 (WBS, milestones, links, constraints)

  • Identify the critical path and float

  • Define interfaces between disciplines (civil works, tracks, catenary, power supply, systems, etc.)

Progress Monitoring:

  • Update the schedule based on field feedback and productivity analyses

  • Track schedule performance indicators (S-curves, histograms)

  • Identify variances, raise alerts in case of deviations, and propose corrective actions

Multi-trade Coordination:

  • Participate in planning coordination meetings with the client (MOA), engineering (MOE), and contractors

  • Work with civil engineering, rail systems, testing, and operations teams

  • Ensure overall schedule consistency between sub-projects

Project Management Support:

  • Contribute to the contractual schedule management and track changes

  • Assist in preparing schedule impact analyses (claims, disruptions)

  • Collaborate with cost control, quality, and risk management teams

Profile Sought:

Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Transportation, or Project Management

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning on linear or technical infrastructure projects

  • Prior experience in railway projects is a strong asset (tram, metro, RER, high-speed lines)

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (structure, macros, reporting)

  • Good understanding of multi-disciplinary constraints (civil, electrical, systems)

  • Electrical knowledge is a plus
