Industrial Electrical Designer (M/F) (J26-048)

Location: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur
Start date: Immediate
Sector: Industry

Context

As part of industrial projects in demanding environments, the Industrial Electrical Designer is involved in the design, analysis, and updating of electrical installations for industrial sites.
They contribute to electrical studies from on-site surveys through to the production of complete technical documentation, in compliance with current standards and the specific constraints of industrial and ATEX zones.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out on-site surveys and analysis of electrical cabinets, panels, and units.

  • Establish power balance calculations and analyze the electrical requirements of installations.

  • Produce single-line diagrams for power and lighting systems.

  • Design complete electrical installations: process systems, distribution, lighting, and earthing/grounding (MALT).

  • Size electrical protections, define their settings, and determine associated cable cross-sections.

  • Research, interpret, and apply applicable electrical standards, particularly NF C 15-100.

  • Integrate safety requirements and protection methods, especially in ATEX zones.

  • Prepare pre- and post-work documentation, including power balances, single-line diagrams, connection synoptics, and overhead and underground routing layouts.

  • Produce troubleshooting drawings, terminal block diagrams, and related technical documents.

  • Design plans for distribution boards, main low-voltage switchboards (TGBT), LV panels with withdrawable drawers, as well as detailed bills of materials, based on supplier standards.

  • Carry out studies and drawings related to electrical heat tracing in ATEX zones.

  • Draft electrical specifications.

  • Update technical documentation according to changes and corrective actions.

  • Define, select, and requisition electrical equipment.

  • Verify the technical compliance of proposed or delivered equipment.

  • Provide internal reporting and participate in technical meetings and clarification phases.

  • Contribute to coordination with other disciplines: instrumentation, civil engineering, and process.

Required Profile

  • BTS in Electrotechnics or equivalent, combined with proficiency in industrial drafting tools and technical training in electrical engineering.

  • Skills in instrumentation are an asset.

  • Proven experience in industrial environments, ideally on sites such as LYB, Total, Lavéra, or similar settings.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering office, including 1–2 years in a similar role.

  • Field experience is appreciated to better understand industrial constraints.

  • GIES 1 and ATEX 0 certifications required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in CANECO calculation software and AutoCAD for industrial drafting.

  • Strong knowledge of the technological environment and suppliers in the industrial electrical sector.

  • Rigorous application of electrical regulations, particularly NF C 15-100.

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational skills, structured approach, and technical rigor.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with various project stakeholders.

  • Perseverance and commitment to long-term study follow-up.

  • Autonomy and reliability in delivering work outputs.
