Context and Objective

As part of industrial projects with high regulatory and safety stakes, the Senior QHSE Engineer provides operational leadership to ensure compliance with HSE and quality requirements in environments with significant multi-activity (co-activity).

They are responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the QHSE management system, while supporting site teams and subcontractors in risk control.


Main Responsibilities

1. QHSE Leadership in a Nuclear Environment

  • Deploy and enforce the QHSE management system on site
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Guarantee adherence to nuclear safety standards and internal procedures

2. Risk Management and Prevention

  • Conduct risk assessments and define appropriate preventive measures
  • Validate safety plans (PPSPS), prevention plans, and co-activity documents
  • Supervise specific work permits (confined spaces, high-risk activities, etc.)
  • Monitor sensitive operations and those with high safety stakes

3. Site Monitoring and Operational Management

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits
  • Manage co-activity and subcontractor interfaces
  • Support site teams in applying HSE standards
  • Establish and maintain a strong safety culture on site

4. Reporting and Client Relations

  • Provide daily and weekly reporting to the client
  • Participate in safety meetings and steering committees
  • Represent the company before official authorities when required

5. Incident Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead investigations following incidents/accidents
  • Manage non-conformities and corrective actions
  • Participate in internal and client audits
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QHSE system

Required Profile

  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in risk management, industrial safety, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a nuclear or high-risk industrial environment
  • Significant experience in site management and co-activity coordination
  • Strong knowledge of client requirements such as EDF and major industrial contractors
  • Experience in cross-functional management and team coordination
  • Ability to work independently in a demanding environment
