Context

The Schedule Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure timely project delivery. The role focuses on planning, progress tracking, delay analysis, and coordination with project teams to manage timelines effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using planning tools
  • Define project activities, durations, sequences, and milestones
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly
  • Analyze schedule deviations and identify delays and risks
  • Perform critical path analysis (CPM) and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams
  • Support project management in decision-making related to timelines
  • Participate in recovery planning and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure alignment between schedule, cost, and project progress

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 10 years of overall experience
    • Minimum 5 years in a similar position
  • Strong experience in project planning and scheduling within infrastructure or construction projects
  • Experience on large-scale or complex projects

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling methodologies
  • Proficiency in:
    • Primavera P6 (mandatory)
    • Microsoft Project (optional)
  • Experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) and schedule analysis
  • Understanding of project lifecycle (engineering, procurement, construction)
  • Ability to integrate schedule with cost and progress data
  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting and tracking

Certifications (Advantageous)

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional – AACE)
  • Any certification in project controls or planning
