Context :
Drive continuous network performance improvement and customer experience enhancement.
The MS Optimization & Performance Engineer operates on live mobile networks (2G/3G/4G/5G) and is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and improving radio and end-to-end network performance. The role involves working with large volumes of performance data, using specialized tools to identify network issues, capacity constraints, and quality degradation impacting user experience.
The engineer collaborates closely with RAN, Core, Transmission, and Field teams to ensure that optimization actions are aligned with network design, rollout activities, and operational priorities.
Responsibilities :
Performance Monitoring & KPI Analysis
- Monitor and analyze network KPIs (Accessibility, Retainability, Mobility, Throughput, Latency)
- Identify performance degradation, trends, and anomalies across clusters or regions
- Perform root cause analysis using counters, traces, and performance tools
- Ensure KPI targets and SLAs are met across the network
Radio Optimization & Tuning
- Optimize radio parameters (handover, power, tilts, PCI, neighbors, load balancing)
- Improve coverage, capacity, and quality through parameter tuning and feature activation
- Analyze and resolve issues related to drops, call setup failures, and low throughput
- Support cluster optimization and network fine-tuning after rollout
Capacity & Congestion Management
- Identify congestion hotspots and capacity limitations
- Propose and follow up on capacity expansion actions (carrier addition, sectorization, refarming)
- Optimize traffic distribution and load balancing across cells
- Anticipate traffic growth and support capacity planning activities
Drive Test & Field Analysis
- Analyze drive test logs and benchmarking data
- Correlate field measurements with network KPIs
- Identify coverage gaps, interference issues, and quality degradation zones
- Provide recommendations based on real field conditions
Reporting & Improvement Plans
- Generate detailed performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Build action plans to improve network KPIs and customer experience
- Track implementation and impact of optimization actions
- Provide clear visibility to management and stakeholders
Profile Required:
- 5–10+ years in radio/network optimization
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

- OSS tools (Huawei M2000, Ericsson ENM)
