Context

As part of a drinking water treatment plant project in Ukraine, ProjecTTech is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to manage contractual and commercial matters throughout the construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover phases of the project.

The Contract Manager will work closely with the project management team, client representatives, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective contract administration, control contractual risks, manage claims and variations, and protect the project’s contractual and commercial interests.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer project contracts in accordance with contractual requirements and project procedures.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, notices, and deadlines.
  • Review and interpret contract terms and conditions and advise the project team on contractual matters.
  • Prepare, review, and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and formal communications.
  • Manage variations, change orders, claims, and requests for extensions of time.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Assess contractors’ and subcontractors’ claims and supporting documentation.
  • Support negotiations with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with agreed contractual requirements.
  • Maintain accurate contract registers, correspondence logs, variation records, and claims documentation.
  • Support the project team in resolving contractual disputes and preventing escalation.
  • Participate in project progress, commercial, and coordination meetings.
  • Support contract close-out, final account settlement, and handover activities.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and commercial management for construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of claims management, variations, change control, and extensions of time.
  • Ability to interpret complex contractual provisions and identify contractual risks.
  • Good knowledge of international construction contract principles and standard forms of contract, including FIDIC.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing contractual notices, claims, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • Good understanding of project planning, cost control, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to assess contractual entitlement and evaluate commercial and schedule impacts.
  • Strong negotiation, reporting, and contract documentation capabilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Significant professional experience in contract management on infrastructure, industrial, water, or construction projects.
  • Previous experience on drinking water or wastewater treatment plant projects is highly valued.
  • Proven experience managing contractors and subcontractors within complex project environments.
  • Experience with FIDIC or similar international forms of contract is highly valued.
  • Experience working within international and multidisciplinary project teams is preferred.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Availability to work on-site in Ukraine and start immediately.
