About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Systems Design Engineer (SSI) to support commercial building projects requiring fire protection engineering studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and sizing fire safety systems, producing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable fire safety regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Safety Engineering & Design
- Analyze project requirements, technical inputs, and client specifications.
- Design fire safety systems tailored to project requirements.
- Perform sizing and engineering calculations for fire detection, alarm, and protection systems.
- Define system architectures and operational principles for fire safety installations.
Technical Documentation
- Prepare system diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Produce technical specifications (CCTP), cost breakdown documents (DPGF), technical reports, and tender documentation.
- Develop study presentations and technical summaries.
- Maintain and update project technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
- Ensure designs comply with applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Integrate requirements related to ERP regulations, APSAD guidelines, and FM Global standards.
- Participate in technical reviews and design validation activities.
- Monitor regulatory and standards updates related to fire protection systems.
Technical Coordination
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Participate in technical meetings with project stakeholders and clients.
- Provide technical support during all project phases.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Electrical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Fire Safety Systems (SSI) engineering or fire protection design.
- Proven experience designing fire safety systems.
- Strong understanding of commercial building environments and associated regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluent French and technical English required.
