Context
The Lead Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling the overall project schedule, ensuring effective coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
The role requires close coordination with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders to monitor progress, identify schedule risks, and maintain reliable planning and reporting throughout project execution.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update the integrated project schedule.
- Establish the planning structure, activities, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
- Coordinate planning inputs across engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline schedule.
- Identify schedule deviations, delays, constraints, and potential impacts on key milestones.
- Perform critical path and schedule variance analysis.
- Develop recovery plans and mitigation measures when required.
- Consolidate contractors’ and subcontractors’ schedules into the overall project planning.
- Ensure consistency between detailed schedules, contractual milestones, and project objectives.
- Prepare schedule forecasts, progress reports, dashboards, and planning indicators.
- Lead planning coordination meetings and challenge schedule assumptions when necessary.
- Support the project team in evaluating changes and their impact on the schedule.
- Ensure reliable progress measurement and forecasting.
- Provide planning information and analysis to support project management decisions.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, and project controls.
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and planning methodologies.
- Strong understanding of baseline management, critical path analysis, progress measurement, and forecasting.
- Ability to develop and manage complex integrated schedules.
- Knowledge of WBS, milestones, dependencies, constraints, and schedule interfaces.
- Experience consolidating multidisciplinary schedules.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover sequences.
- Ability to analyze schedule deviations and develop recovery scenarios.
- Strong planning reporting and performance monitoring capabilities.
- Ability to review and challenge contractors’ and subcontractors’ schedules.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering degree or recognized qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant professional experience in planning and scheduling roles on major infrastructure, industrial, environmental, or construction projects.
- Proven experience as a Lead Planner, Senior Planner, or Planning Engineer in complex project environments.
- Strong experience coordinating multidisciplinary planning activities.
- Experience supervising and consolidating contractors’ and subcontractors’ schedules.
- Ability to operate effectively within international and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Availability to work on-site in Ukraine and start immediately.
