Electrical Commissioning Lead Data Center USA (J26-332)

Industry: IT / Critical Infrastructure

Location: USA

Context

The Electrical Commissioning Lead is responsible for the end-to-end commissioning of all electrical power systems within a data center environment. This role ensures that high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) distribution systems operate safely, reliably, and in full compliance with design intent and uptime requirements.

Given the critical nature of power in data centers, this position plays a key role in validating resiliency, redundancy, and black-start capability of the entire electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning activities for all electrical power systems
  • Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and test scripts
  • Supervise integration and functional testing of MV/LV systems
  • Validate electrical redundancy schemes (N, N+1, 2N architectures)
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements
  • Critical Testing Activities
  • Load Bank Testing
  • Perform full-load and partial-load testing of generator systems
  • Verify UPS performance under dynamic load conditions
  • Confirm thermal stability and system response under stress
  • Black Start / “Pull-the-Plug” Testing
  • Simulate total power loss scenarios
  • Validate full recovery sequence from zero power condition
  • Ensure proper coordination between:
  • UPS systems
  • Generator start-up
  • ATS/STS transfer logic
  • Confirm full restoration of critical loads without manual intervention

Technical Requirements

  • Strong experience in MV/LV electrical systems in critical environments
  • Deep understanding of UPS architectures and generator synchronization
  • Knowledge of BESS integration in modern data centers
  • Familiarity with electrical protection relays and switchgear logic
  • Experience with commissioning tools, test equipment, and load banks

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in data center commissioning or mission-critical facilities
  • Proven track record in large-scale power system testing and validation
  • Strong knowledge of Tier III / Tier IV data center standards
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary commissioning teams
  • Strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational continuity
