Context
As part of the development of our activities in the energy sector, we are looking for a Senior Biogas Management Engineer with extensive expertise in biogas collection, treatment, flaring, and recovery systems.
The role covers the technical review and validation of detailed engineering, inspection and acceptance of critical equipment, and technical support throughout commissioning and plant ramp-up activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Review and validate detailed engineering studies for biogas collection, treatment, flaring, and recovery systems.
- Review technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation related to biogas facilities.
- Verify the technical consistency and performance requirements of the proposed systems.
- Review technical documentation submitted by equipment suppliers.
- Participate in the inspection, testing, and acceptance of critical equipment at supplier facilities and on site.
- Monitor critical equipment including compressors, flares, gas purification systems, and gas analysers.
- Verify equipment compliance with approved technical specifications and performance requirements.
- Coordinate technical interfaces between biogas systems and other disciplines.
- Provide technical support during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Support plant start-up and progressive ramp-up to the required operating conditions.
- Analyse operating performance and contribute to the resolution of technical issues during commissioning.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in biogas collection, treatment, flaring, and energy recovery systems.
- Excellent ability to review and validate detailed engineering documentation.
- Strong knowledge of biogas compression, purification, flaring, and gas analysis equipment.
- Ability to review technical specifications, calculations, drawings, and process documentation.
- Good understanding of process control and interfaces with mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Experience in supplier inspections, equipment testing, and acceptance activities.
- Proven experience in commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up of biogas installations.
- Good understanding of applicable environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering degree or Master’s degree in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Energy, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in biogas management, treatment, recovery, or related industrial gas systems.
- Proven experience in detailed engineering review and technical validation.
- Strong experience with critical biogas equipment and supplier coordination.
- Field experience in commissioning, start-up, and performance ramp-up activities.
- Ability to act as a technical reference within multidisciplinary teams.
