Context

As part of complex investment projects in the pharmaceutical industry, we are looking for two Senior Design Managers, one based in Paris or Lyon and the other in Brussels.

You take responsibility for the overall management of the All Trades (TCE) design and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of design engineers in project management. You ensure the technical consistency of the studies, their compliance with pharmaceutical requirements, as well as the control of interfaces, deadlines and quality of deliverables.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the engineering teams in charge of TCE design.
  • Organize the studies and ensure their progress in accordance with the quality, cost and schedule objectives.
  • Supervise the different disciplines: building, structure, processes, utilities, electricity, technical installations and cleanrooms.
  • Guarantee the overall consistency of the design and ensure the management of interfaces between disciplines.
  • Lead design reviews and manage the resolution of technical issues.
  • Challenge design choices and support teams in techno-economic decisions.
  • Ensure the integration of regulatory requirements and applicable standards to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ensure coordination with the various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify risks related to the design and implement the necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure structured monitoring of deliverables, decisions, modifications and technical interfaces.

Technical Skills

  • Confirmed expertise in project management and TCE design of pharmaceutical buildings and facilities.
  • Solid understanding of the different engineering disciplines and their interfaces.
  • Good command of issues related to cleanrooms, industrial utilities and pharmaceutical technical installations.
  • Knowledge of standards, good practices and regulatory constraints in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary design studies on complex projects.
  • Solid experience in technical coordination, design reviews and interface management.
  • Ability to work in an international environment and conduct technical discussions in English.

Candidate Profile

  • Higher education in engineering, industrial engineering, civil engineering or an equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, including significant experience on pharmaceutical projects.
  • Confirmed experience as a design manager, engineering manager or equivalent position.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Good TCE knowledge with a particular interest in controlled-atmosphere environments and utilities.
  • Professional English mandatory, both spoken and written.
  • Availability for regular travel in France, Belgium or other sites, according to project requirements.
