Context
As part of our telecommunications activities in Algeria, ProjecTTech is looking for an experienced Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate civil works, site surveys, network installation, commissioning, and integration activities. The Site Engineer will use field data to identify trends, ensure efficient site execution, and provide technical support throughout implementation while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate teams of Riggers and Technicians carrying out telecommunications and civil works on site.
- Plan, organize, and supervise installation and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Supervise equipment installation and alignment in accordance with approved technical documentation and instructions.
- Oversee equipment power-up, testing, integration, and commissioning.
- Ensure test and installation documentation is accurately completed and reported.
- Monitor site quality and safety, report breaches, investigate issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Conclude installation and commissioning activities and report progress to the Implementation Coordinator.
- Ensure sites are protected against unauthorized access and work areas are properly segregated from pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
- Perform and supervise audits, testing, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as required.
- Support emergency repairs and service restoration activities.
- Interpret work orders, technical drawings, plans, and installation instructions.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety requirements and established Ericsson and customer quality standards.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Implementation Coordinator.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications site construction, installation, commissioning, and integration.
- Good knowledge of Ericsson equipment and products.
- Knowledge of networking principles, Ethernet standards, power systems, and cable testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and support technical issue resolution.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, installation documentation, and test reports.
- Strong understanding of site quality, Health & Safety, and commissioning requirements.
- Successful completion, or ability to complete, required Ericsson installation and commissioning training.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in telecommunications site implementation, installation, commissioning, or integration.
- Proven experience leading field teams and coordinating site activities.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work outside normal business hours, including shifts, nights, and weekends when required.
- Effective written and spoken English, particularly for technical and safety communication.
