Context
As part of our telecommunications activities in Algeria, ProjecTTech is looking for an experienced Telecom Technician to lead field teams and carry out installation, maintenance, upgrade, and repair activities on telecommunications sites. The role combines hands-on technical work at height with team coordination while ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, quality, and customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate teams of Riggers during telecommunications and civil activities on site.
- Climb towers and ladders and safely perform technical activities at elevated heights.
- Erect telecommunications tower components using cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, capstans, and other lifting equipment.
- Install antennas, microwave dishes, antenna mounts, transmission lines, cable trays, conduits, structural steel, and ancillary equipment.
- Install, remove, maintain, and repair telecommunications antennas, equipment, and associated hardware.
- Install and repair fiber-optic, coaxial, and DC power cables and lines.
- Perform site audits, testing, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
- Carry out emergency repairs and support service restoration when required.
- Read and understand work orders, technical plans, and installation instructions.
- Assist the Team Leader with site execution and coordination activities as required.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety procedures and safe working-at-height practices.
- Comply with established Ericsson and customer quality requirements without deviation.
- Perform other field duties assigned by the Team Leader.
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of telecommunications construction and field installation activities.
- Experience with antennas, microwave equipment, transmission lines, fiber-optic, coaxial, and DC power cabling.
- Knowledge of networking principles and Ethernet standards.
- Knowledge of telecommunications power systems and cable testing.
- Ability to use winches, capstans, ropes, pulleys, and associated lifting equipment safely.
- Ability to interpret work orders, technical drawings, and installation instructions.
- Ability to successfully complete the required level of Ericsson tower training.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in telecommunications installation, maintenance, rigging, or related field activities.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate field teams.
- Comfortable and physically capable of working safely at height.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability for shift work, nights, weekends, and work outside normal business hours when required.
- Effective written and spoken English, particularly for technical and safety communication.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and quality standards.
