Context
As part of the development of our activities in the energy and Waste-to-Energy (WtE) sector, we are looking for a WtE Building Services Engineer to supervise building services installation activities on site.
The role is responsible for monitoring HVAC, smoke extraction, fire protection, and utility networks within industrial buildings while ensuring quality, safety, and coordination with other disciplines.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise HVAC installation works, including heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.
- Monitor smoke extraction, fire protection, and building utility networks.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, applicable standards, and safety requirements.
- Monitor workmanship quality and physical progress.
- Coordinate subcontractors involved in building services activities.
- Identify and resolve technical clashes and interfaces with other disciplines.
- Liaise with engineering teams to address site technical issues.
- Participate in inspections, testing, and acceptance activities.
- Monitor non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Support preparation for testing and commissioning activities.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in HVAC and industrial building services.
- Good knowledge of smoke extraction and fire protection systems.
- Knowledge of utility and fluid networks within industrial buildings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation.
- Good knowledge of applicable installation practices, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Strong ability to manage multidisciplinary technical interfaces.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering degree in HVAC, Mechanical, Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in building services supervision on industrial or complex construction projects.
- Proven experience in HVAC, fire protection, smoke extraction, and/or utility networks.
- Experience in the energy or Waste-to-Energy sector is highly valued.
