Context:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the maintenance, reliability, and performance improvement of critical mechanical equipment within a steel melting shop.
The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical systems in a high-demand industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure mechanical integrity of key equipment:
- Electric Arc Furnace (EAF)
- Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF)
- Continuous Casting Machine (CCM)
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
Support and execute:
- Preventive maintenance programs
- Corrective maintenance activities
Supervise:
- Mechanical shutdown activities
- Repair and overhaul works
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
Coordinate closely with:
- Production teams
- Electrical & Instrumentation teams
- Ensure full compliance with HSE standards and procedures
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 to 8 years of experience in:
- Steel plants or heavy industry environments
- Experience in Steel Melting Shop (SMS) is a strong advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in steel plants
- Hands-on experience in:
- Industrial maintenance
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics
Good understanding of:
- Hydraulics systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Experience with:
- Rotating equipment
- Heavy mechanical systems
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a shift-based industrial environment
- Teamwork and cross-functional coordination
- High level of safety awareness and discipline
