Context

As part of the construction of a large-scale Data Center, we are looking for a Lead Planner to oversee the overall project planning, from the design phase through commissioning and final handover.

As the planning lead, you will work closely with the Project Management team, Design Managers, Construction teams, and the various technical disciplines, including HVAC, High Voltage/Low Voltage (HV/LV), Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, structure, and maintain the project’s master schedule.
  • Develop and consolidate detailed schedules for the various work packages.
  • Define and continuously update the project’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Coordinate interfaces and dependencies between the different disciplines.
  • Identify, monitor, and analyze the project’s critical path.
  • Assess the impact of changes, risks, and delays on project milestones.
  • Produce progress indicators and analyze variances between planned and actual performance.
  • Perform schedule risk analyses and propose mitigation measures.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Project Management team and the client.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with the client, contractors, and project teams.
  • Review and challenge contractors’ schedules.
  • Develop and monitor recovery plans in the event of schedule deviations.
  • Support Project Managers in decision-making.
  • Ensure alignment between project progress, costs, and expenditure forecasts.
  • Contribute to budget preparation, cost monitoring, and financial forecasting updates.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in planning complex, multi-package projects.
  • Excellent understanding of the interfaces between design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover.
  • Proficiency in Critical Path Method (CPM), schedule variance analysis, and progress monitoring.
  • Ability to develop and manage both master schedules and detailed project schedules.
  • Strong expertise in schedule risk analysis and recovery planning.
  • Good understanding of cost control, budgeting, and expenditure forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Primavera OPC is considered an advantage.

Candidate Profile

  • Engineering degree or Master’s degree (Bac+5 equivalent).
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in planning industrial or complex building projects.
  • Significant experience on Data Center, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, nuclear, battery manufacturing, or other major industrial projects.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to act as the technical planning lead and supervise planning-related activities.
  • Good understanding of schedule management and cost control principles.
