Context:
As part of the development and modernization of railway lines, our client is seeking a Catenary Design & Works Engineer to contribute to major projects from the design phase through to on-site supervision. You will join a multidisciplinary team and work in coordination with other specialties (civil engineering, signaling, power systems), within a demanding environment in terms of quality, safety, and technical performance.
Main Responsibilities:

Carry out technical studies (preliminary design – APS, detailed design – APD, execution – EXE)

Perform mechanical and electrical sizing of catenary systems

Calculate sag, forces, and stresses
-
Produce electrical schematics and layout drawings
-
Prepare technical documentation, calculation notes, and specifications

Participate in the technical analysis of tenders (cost estimation, technical proposals)

Plan and prepare catenary installation works
-
Coordinate subcontractors and supervise on-site teams
-
Monitor work quality and compliance with railway standards (SNCF/UIC)
-
Ensure compliance with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) rules and site safety

Provide technical progress reports to the project manager
Profile Sought:
Education:

Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, Energy, or equivalent
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in catenary design or installation work is preferred
Technical Skills:

Knowledge of railway catenary systems and SNCF/railway standards

Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit)

Basic knowledge of mechanical calculations (structures, forces, stresses)
