Context

As part of its industrial activities in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the company is seeking a Senior Planner. In this role, the Lead Planner acts as the planning reference. He/She structures the execution logic, leads planning activities using Primavera P6, manages the team of planners, and provides management with decision-support indicators—particularly via Power BI—throughout the entire Turnaround lifecycle, from preparation to lessons learned.

Role and Responsibilities

With strong experience and mastery of planning tools, the Lead Planner is responsible for building, managing, and controlling the Turnaround schedule, from the preparation phase through post-shutdown feedback. He/She ensures the coherence, reliability, and effective use of the schedule as a decision-making tool for project management.


Turnaround Preparation Phase

  • Define the overall Turnaround logic (shutdown, works, restart) in Primavera P6.
  • Develop the conceptual execution schedule.
  • Enter, verify, and consolidate preparation data in Primavera.
  • Complete and check data quality checklists by work package.
  • Update and forecast the execution timeline.
  • Collect planning assumptions from the Planning, Scheduling & Construction Manager and test their robustness.
  • Actively participate in schedule reviews.
  • Anticipate and manage scope changes.
  • Supervise and lead a team of planners.
  • Produce preparation reports using planning tools, particularly Power BI.
  • Prepare the Turnaround close-out report and contribute to lessons learned (feedback).

Execution Phase

  • Lead and coordinate the team of planners during on-site execution.
  • Ensure daily updates of the execution schedule.
  • Control the quality and consistency of progress updates.
  • Analyze deviations and propose recovery scenarios to secure milestones.
  • Raise clear and unfiltered alerts regarding any drift (schedule, sequence, logic) to execution teams
    (Package Managers, Construction Manager, Turnaround Manager).
  • Produce progress reports and decision-making dashboards, especially using Power BI.
  • Integrate all additional works and scope adjustments into the execution schedule.

Profile Sought

  • Proven experience in planning complex industrial projects.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, with tight deadlines and rapid decision-making.
  • Pragmatic approach: the schedule is a management tool designed to simplify and organize task progress.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced mastery of Primavera P6.
  • Professional use of Power BI for project reporting.
  • Strong experience with shutdowns / Turnarounds.
  • Good understanding of the energy and heavy industry environments.

Functional Skills

  • Ability to structure complex scheduling logic.
  • Critical analysis of progress and deviations.
  • Effective leadership and team management.
  • Clear communication with field teams and management.
