Context:
Develop, manage, and integrate Building Information Models (BIM) for large-scale urban infrastructure and smart city projects, ensuring interoperability with GIS, IoT systems, and digital twin platforms.
Technical Responsibilities
BIM Modeling & Coordination
- Develop and manage 3D/4D/5D BIM models using Revit, Navisworks, Archicad
- Perform clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination
- Ensure model accuracy across design, construction, and operation phases
Data & Standards Management
- Apply BIM standards (ISO 19650, IFC, COBie)
- Define naming conventions and data structures
- Ensure interoperability between BIM, GIS, and IoT systems
BIM Automation
- Develop automation scripts using Dynamo and Python (Revit API)
- Automate workflows: quantity takeoff, validation, data extraction
Smart City Integration
- Integrate BIM with GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Support digital twin environments (Unity, Cesium)
- Link BIM models with IoT data for real-time monitoring
Construction & Lifecycle Management
- Support 4D scheduling and 5D cost estimation
- Integrate BIM with ERP and asset management systems
- Prepare models for facility management (FM) use
Tech Stack
- BIM Tools: Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Archicad
- Standards: IFC, COBie, ISO 19650
- Programming: Python, Dynamo (Revit API)
- Integration: REST APIs, system connectors
- Visualization: Unity, Unreal Engine, Cesium
Profile
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Engineering
- 3–8+ years of BIM experience
- Strong advantage: smart city or large infrastructure projects (KSA/GCC preferred)
