Context
As part of technically complex commercial building projects, we are looking for a Low Voltage Systems (ELV) / Fire Safety Systems (FSS) Design Engineer to participate in the design and sizing of low voltage systems and fire safety systems.
The position involves carrying out technical engineering studies, producing design documentation, and defining solutions that comply with the functional, regulatory, and normative requirements of the projects.
Responsibilities & Duties
ELV Design & Engineering
- Analyze project input data and functional requirements.
- Design low voltage (ELV) systems tailored to the client’s requirements.
- Carry out technical studies related to structured cabling (VDI), Building Management Systems (BMS), access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
- Define the technical architectures and operating principles of the installations.
Fire Safety Systems (FSS) Design & Engineering
- Participate in the design of Fire Safety Systems (FSS).
- Define fire detection and fire protection solutions adapted to the projects.
- Integrate requirements related to fire suppression systems, sprinklers, and water mist systems.
- Ensure the technical consistency of the proposed solutions.
Documentation Production
- Prepare single-line diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Draft technical specifications (CCTP), Bills of Quantities (DPGF), technical reports, and tender documentation.
- Prepare presentation materials and summary documents.
- Ensure project documentation is kept up to date.
Compliance & Coordination
- Verify that engineering studies comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Participate in technical meetings and design reviews.
- Coordinate with the other project disciplines.
- Provide technical support to the project teams.
Required Profile
- Master’s degree (Bac+5 equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Low Voltage Systems (ELV), Fire Safety Engineering, or equivalent.
- Significant experience in ELV and/or Fire Safety Systems engineering.
- Good knowledge of commercial building environments and associated technical installations.
- Experience in engineering design and production of technical documentation.
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
- Fluent French and technical English are appreciated depending on the projects.
