Context
As part of highly technical industrial projects, we are seeking a Welding Engineer to ensure the compliance of welding and assembly operations for equipment and piping systems.
The position provides support to the engineering, manufacturing, and construction teams to ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, and quality requirements throughout the entire project execution cycle.
Responsibilities & Duties
Management of Welding Activities
- Define the technical requirements related to welding operations.
- Participate in the preparation and validation of welding procedures.
- Supervise welding activities carried out in the workshop or on construction sites.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Technical Monitoring & Compliance
- Verify the compliance of welded assemblies with technical specifications.
- Participate in the qualification of welding procedures and welders.
- Monitor non-destructive testing (NDT) activities and analyze the results.
- Identify non-conformities and manage corrective actions.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with the engineering, quality, manufacturing, and construction teams.
- Participate in technical reviews and coordination meetings.
- Provide technical support on welding- and materials-related issues.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical and documentation packages.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure the traceability of welding operations.
- Verify the compliance of quality documentation.
- Participate in quality audits and technical inspections.
- Monitor developments in applicable standards and regulations.
Profile Required
- Master’s degree (Bachelor’s +5 equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Boilermaking, or equivalent.
- Significant experience in welding engineering or technical coordination of welding operations.
- Good knowledge of welding processes applied to piping systems and industrial equipment.
- Experience in demanding industrial environments (energy, nuclear, petrochemical, Oil & Gas, or heavy industry) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of quality requirements and regulations applicable to welding.
