Context
As part of a drinking water treatment plant project in Ukraine, ProjecTTech is seeking an experienced Local Technical Supervision professional to oversee and monitor on-site construction and installation activities.
The role will ensure that works are executed in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, applicable standards, quality requirements, and project schedules, while maintaining effective coordination between contractors, engineering teams, and the client.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction, installation, and site activities.
- Verify compliance of works with approved drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards.
- Monitor civil, mechanical, electrical, piping, instrumentation, and automation works.
- Inspect workmanship, materials, and installed equipment.
- Identify technical deviations, non-conformities, and construction issues and follow up on corrective actions.
- Monitor contractors’ progress against the approved schedule.
- Coordinate technical interfaces between contractors and engineering disciplines.
- Participate in site meetings, inspections, and technical coordination meetings.
- Review method statements, inspection requests, technical submittals, and site documentation.
- Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Prepare regular site supervision and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Technical skills
- Strong knowledge of drinking water treatment plant construction and installation activities.
- Good understanding of water treatment processes and associated equipment.
- Experience in civil works, piping, pumping systems, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation interfaces.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of construction quality control and inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with international engineering and construction standards.
- Experience with testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Strong site reporting and documentation skills.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in technical supervision of water, wastewater, or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience on drinking water treatment plant projects is highly valued.
- Proven experience supervising contractors and multidisciplinary site activities.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams, contractors, clients, and local stakeholders.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of Ukrainian or another locally relevant language is an advantage.
- Availability to work on-site in Ukraine and start immediately.
