Context:
As part of the commissioning team for industrial and data center electrical systems, the Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for verifying and validating electrical installations from pre-functional testing to final client acceptance.
The role involves hands-on testing, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
Main Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Preparation
Develop and review commissioning plans, test procedures, and documentation for all project phases (L1 to L5).
Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure systems are ready for commissioning.
- Testing and Validation
Perform and supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including:
Continuity and insulation tests
Functional and interlock testing
Load and performance tests
Verify system performance against design intent, technical specifications, and safety requirements.
- Quality and Documentation
Record and analyze test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
Maintain commissioning logs, test sheets, and turnover documentation.
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and traceable for client acceptance.
- Coordination and Technical Support
Interface with Design, Construction, and QA/QC teams to resolve technical issues during commissioning.
Provide technical expertise to ensure smooth handover and system reliability.
Support the final acceptance process and client demonstrations.
Profile:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
Experience:
3–6 years of experience in electrical commissioning within industrial or data center environments.
Proven experience with LV/MV systems, power distribution, and automation/control interfaces.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical systems, testing methods, and commissioning procedures.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, test documentation tools, and commissioning software.
Knowledge of NFPA, IEEE, IEC, and OSHA standards preferred.
