Context

As part of the development and execution of highly technical industrial projects in the energy sector, the Instrumentation & Control Engineer joins multidisciplinary teams involved throughout the entire project lifecycle: studies, detailed design, execution, and commissioning.

The position requires active participation in technical decision-making and cross-disciplinary coordination within a structured and demanding environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and define instrumentation and control systems suited to installation requirements.

  • Draft technical and functional specifications for I&C equipment and systems.

  • Contribute to defining system architecture (sensors, actuators, PLCs, supervision systems).

  • Prepare and review technical documents: P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-ups, single-line diagrams, and layout drawings.

  • Produce engineering study files and associated deliverables.

  • Ensure technical coordination with process, electrical, and systems teams.

  • Participate in supplier consultations, analyze technical bids, and validate related documentation.

  • Contribute to testing phases (FAT/SAT) and commissioning activities.

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project schedule requirements.

Key Skills

Technical

  • Design of instrumentation and control systems.

  • Strong knowledge of PLC architectures and supervision systems.

  • Ability to read and produce P&IDs and technical drawings.

  • Drafting of detailed technical specifications.

  • Knowledge of applicable industrial standards (energy / nuclear environment depending on the project).

Tools

  • AutoCAD

  • AVEVA / E3D / See Electrical (depending on project environment)

  • I&C engineering software

  • Office tools and document management systems

Profile Required

  • Master’s degree (Engineering school or equivalent university degree) in automation, electrical engineering, or instrumentation.

  • Significant experience in instrumentation and control engineering on industrial projects.

  • Experience in complex and regulated project environments (energy, nuclear, or heavy industry is a plus).

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and interact with various technical stakeholders.

  • Professional level of English required.
