Role Overview
For a major port and free zone development project in Libya, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee all contractual and commercial matters.
The Contracts Manager will ensure that contracts are properly structured, administered and enforced, safeguarding the project’s financial and legal interests throughout its lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review and administration of contracts with contractors, consultants and service providers.
- Ensure contractual compliance with project requirements and applicable regulations.
- Manage contract negotiations, amendments, variations and claims.
- Monitor contractual risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support project management in resolving disputes and contractual issues.
- Coordinate with legal, procurement and finance teams on contract-related matters.
- Maintain accurate records of contractual documentation and correspondence.
- Provide regular reporting on contractual performance and exposure.
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience.
- At least 5 years in a similar Contracts Manager role, preferably within large infrastructure, port or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract management practices and international contracting standards.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FIDIC, contract management, or similar) are advantageous.
- Experience working in complex, multinational project environments is preferred.
