A major player in the construction industry both in France and internationally, the company operates in various sectors such as civil engineering, earthworks, hydraulics, tunneling, rail, nuclear, and environmental projects.
Projects are complex and multi-stakeholder (JV, consortiums, partnerships), requiring precise and proactive contract management.
The Contract Manager supports the project management team to secure the legal, administrative, and financial aspects of contracts throughout their entire lifecycle — from initial review to execution, variations, and closeout.
This position plays a key role in risk management and project profitability.
Main Responsibilities
1. Contractual Analysis and Management

Analyze contract documents (CCAP, CCTP, annexes, amendments, correspondence) to identify key risks and obligations.

Participate in defining contractual strategy with the project management and technical teams.

Monitor daily contract execution: deadlines, penalties, guarantees, insurance, subcontracting, and joint ventures.

Draft and review contractual correspondence: reservations, notifications, extension requests, and claims.
2. Claims and Variations Management

Identify and manage scope changes (claims, variations, amendments).

Prepare technical and financial reports to support compensation or time extension requests.

Assist project management in negotiations with the client, partners, or subcontractors.

Maintain up-to-date contractual dashboards (risks, deadlines, financial deviations).
3. Legal and Financial Interface

Work closely with legal, financial, and QHSE departments.

Ensure compliance of subcontractor and supplier contracts.

Participate in steering committees and internal communication on contractual issues.
4. Contract Closure and Feedback

Contribute to project closure: final account, release of guarantees, and archiving.

Draft contractual feedback reports (REX) to capture lessons learned and prevent future risks.
Profile Sought

Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management on complex projects in construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure (public or private clients).

Knowledge of FIDIC, CCAG, NEC, or conditional contracts is a plus.

Strong understanding of technical project aspects (planning, cost, methods, execution).
Key Skills:

Solid grasp of public and private contract law, the French Public Procurement Code, and joint venture agreements.

Excellent writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Field-oriented mindset, rigor, autonomy, and diplomacy.

Professional English (spoken and written).

Proficiency in MS Office, ERP project tools, contract management software, and MS Project / Primavera is an asset.
