Context

As part of a major pharmaceutical construction project, we are seeking a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to oversee and guarantee the quality of mechanical works, including welding, piping, pressure vessels, and rotating/static equipment. The position is key to ensuring full compliance with GMP, project specifications, and international mechanical standards.

Missions & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidanceto mechanical quality inspectors on site.
  • Perform and supervise inspections of piping systems, welding activities, pressure equipment, tanks, and rotating/static machinery.
  • Review and validate supplier quality documents (ITP, WPS, PQR, WPQ, FAT/SAT protocols, material certificates).
  • Manage and follow-up QOR (Quality Observation Reports)and NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) until resolution.
  • Coordinate and attend welding inspections (visual, NDT, hydrotests, leak tests)in compliance with project codes and standards.
  • Ensure correct execution and documentation of FAT/SAT, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in supplier/contractor meetingsand act as the quality reference for mechanical scope.
  • Support Construction Manager (CM)and Project Manager (PM) with reporting and issue resolution.
  • Cooperate with the Turnover teamfor quality dossier preparation and system handover.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly corporate quality reports.
  • (Bonus) Use the EIDA Toolfor documentation, inspections tracking, and reporting.

Profile & Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of QA/QC experienceon large-scale industrial or construction projects (pharma, oil & gas, chemical, or energy sector highly appreciated).
  • Strong knowledge of welding standards (ASME IX, EN ISO 15614, AWS D1.1)and piping codes (ASME B31.3, EN13480, PED).
  • Hands-on experience with welding inspections, NDT methods (RT, UT, PT, MT), hydrotests, pressure tests.
  • Solid background in supplier quality management and mechanical site inspections.
  • Fluent in English(oral & written). German is a plus.
  • Rigorous, methodical, and proactive in solving technical issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills in an international project context.
