Context
As part of our telecommunications activities in Algeria, ProjecTTech is looking for Riggers to support the installation, maintenance, upgrade, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. The role involves working at height on towers and other structures while strictly complying with safety, quality, and customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Climb towers and ladders and safely perform assigned tasks at elevated heights.
- Erect telecommunications tower components using ropes, cables, pulleys, winches, capstans, and other lifting equipment.
- Install and maintain antennas, microwave dishes, antenna mounts, transmission lines, cable trays, conduits, structural steel, and ancillary equipment.
- Install, remove, and repair telecommunications equipment and associated hardware.
- Install and maintain fiber-optic, coaxial, and DC power cables.
- Perform inspections, audits, testing, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs.
- Carry out emergency repairs and contribute to service restoration when required.
- Read and understand work orders, installation instructions, and technical plans.
- Assist the Team Leader in the execution and coordination of field activities.
- Strictly follow Health & Safety procedures and established Ericsson and customer quality requirements.
- Perform other field duties assigned by the Team Leader.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of telecommunications construction and tower activities.
- Knowledge of antenna, transmission line, fiber-optic, coaxial, and DC power cable installation.
- Basic understanding of networking principles, Ethernet standards, power systems, and cable testing.
- Ability to safely operate lifting equipment, including winches and capstans.
- Ability to understand technical drawings, work orders, and installation instructions.
- Ability to successfully complete the required Ericsson tower training program.
Candidate Profile
- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, rigging, tower installation, or a related field.
- Physically capable and comfortable working at height.
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Available to work outside normal business hours, including shifts, nights, and weekends when required.
- Effective written and spoken English skills, particularly for safety and technical communication.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and quality standards.
