Context
As part of telecom infrastructure deployment and maintenance activities, the technician operates on-site to ensure proper installation, operation, and reliability of network equipment. The role involves working outdoors, often at height, in close coordination with field teams under the supervision of a team leader.
You will be working in an environment focused on mobile network rollout and maintenance, typically in collaboration with telecom operators, equipment vendors, or specialized service providers. Activities are mainly related to site installation, technical interventions, and field service operations on telecom infrastructure.
Missions & Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Perform installation, dismantling, and maintenance of telecom equipment on site
- Execute work at height on towers and masts in full compliance with safety standards
- Install antennas, feeders, microwave links, and associated communication equipment
- Handle various types of cabling (fiber optic, coaxial, DC power) including routing and connections
Infrastructure & Installation
- Assemble and install structural components such as mounts, cable trays, and steel supports
- Support telecom and civil works activities related to site deployment
- Use lifting and rigging equipment (winches, capstans, pulleys) to position materials and equipment
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Conduct inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance operations
- Identify technical issues and perform corrective actions, including emergency interventions
- Ensure service restoration within required timelines
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Strictly follow health, safety, and environmental procedures on site
- Ensure compliance with company standards and client quality requirements
- Accurately follow work orders, technical documentation, and site instructions
Team Support
- Assist the team leader in coordinating daily site activities
- Supervise and guide rigging teams when required
- Contribute to overall project execution by supporting additional operational tasks
Profile Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecommunications field operations or similar environment
- Valid certification for working at height and tower climbing
- Solid knowledge of telecom infrastructure and construction practices
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, Ethernet standards, and power systems
- Experience with installation and testing of telecom cables (fiber optics, coaxial, DC power)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and work orders
Soft Skills
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Well-organized with attention to detail and ability to manage priorities
- Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and adapt quickly
Languages
- Good command of English (written and spoken), especially for safety and technical communication
Work Conditions & Availability
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, nights, and weekends if required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Capable of handling physically demanding tasks and working in high-pressure environments
