Context
As part of a major port operations and management project in Libya, the company is seeking experienced Office Engineers across all engineering disciplines to support technical coordination, documentation control, and engineering follow-up activities. Disciplines may include Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Structural, Infrastructure, Utilities, and related technical fields. This role is critical in ensuring smooth coordination between site operations, engineering teams, and project management.
Position Summary
The Office Engineer will provide technical and administrative engineering support to the project team. The role involves reviewing technical documents, coordinating submittals, tracking project documentation, and supporting communication between site teams and management. This is a mid-to-senior technical coordination role requiring both engineering knowledge and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process technical submittals (drawings, method statements, materials)
- Coordinate between site engineers, consultants, and contractors
- Maintain document control and technical records
- Track RFIs, technical clarifications, and approvals
- Assist in preparation of technical reports and progress summaries
- Support schedule and cost monitoring from a technical standpoint
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
- Follow up on engineering deliverables and deadlines
- Support procurement technical evaluations
- Assist during inspections and audits when required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Minimum 10 years of overall professional experience
- Minimum 5 years in a similar Office Engineer or technical coordination role
- Experience in large infrastructure, port, maritime, or industrial projects is strongly preferred
