Context
As part of a major port operations and management project in Libya, the company is seeking a Senior Schedule Engineer to lead planning and scheduling control across all project phases. This is a senior-level position requiring extensive experience in complex infrastructure environments, with strong expertise in time control, delay analysis, and strategic schedule management.
Position Summary
The Senior Schedule Engineer will be responsible for establishing, controlling, and optimizing the overall project schedule. The role includes supervising planning activities, validating contractor schedules, performing advanced delay analysis, and ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, and operational readiness phases. The position requires strong coordination with Project Management, Cost Control, and Contract Administration teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the integrated Master Project Schedule
- Establish and validate baseline schedules
- Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis
- Lead schedule risk assessments and time impact analyses
- Review and challenge contractor-submitted schedules
- Monitor progress and identify slippages or bottlenecks
- Propose mitigation and recovery strategies
- Support claims analysis related to time extensions (EOT)
- Integrate schedule data with cost control (EVM methodology)
- Prepare executive-level planning reports and dashboards
- Ensure compliance with contractual planning requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline)
- Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience
- Minimum 5 years in a similar Schedule Engineer or Planning Engineer position
- Experience in large infrastructure, port, maritime, or industrial projects is strongly preferred
