Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental & Social (E&S) Specialist to lead environmental and social compliance activities on a large-scale infrastructure project.
The role is responsible for ensuring that all project activities are aligned with regulatory requirements, international standards and sustainability objectives, while managing environmental and social risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Environmental & Social management plans and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards (e.g., IFC, World Bank guidelines where applicable).
- Conduct environmental and social risk assessments and define mitigation measures.
- Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to environmental and social commitments.
- Oversee environmental monitoring programs and reporting.
- Engage with stakeholders, including local communities and authorities.
- Support contractors in implementing E&S requirements.
- Manage environmental and social incidents and ensure corrective actions are applied.
- Prepare regular reports on E&S performance and compliance.
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Social Sciences or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience.
- At least 5 years in a similar senior E&S role on large infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental and social standards and regulations.
- Experience with international frameworks (IFC, ESG, World Bank) is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications in environmental management or sustainability are an advantage.
- Experience in international project environments is preferred.
