Context
The Senior Mechanical Inspector is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality, compliance, and integrity of all mechanical works executed on-site. The role involves inspection, verification, and validation of installations in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of mechanical installations (HVAC, piping, rotating/static equipment, steel structures, etc.)
- Ensure all mechanical works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and codes (ASME, API, ISO…)
- Monitor contractors’ activities and verify adherence to project quality plans
- Review technical documents (drawings, method statements, inspection test plans – ITPs)
- Witness testing and commissioning activities (pressure tests, alignment checks, performance tests…)
- Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams, engineers, and construction managers
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain documentation traceability
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and site safety procedures
- Support project handover by validating mechanical completion dossiers
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of overall experience
- Minimum 5 years in a similar inspection role (Infrastructure or industrial projects)
- Strong experience in construction site supervision and mechanical inspection
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects is mandatory
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (piping, HVAC, equipment installation)
- Familiarity with international standards: ASME, API, ISO, ASTM
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and P&IDs
- Experience with inspection and testing procedures (ITP, FAT, SAT)
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes and documentation
- Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools
Certifications (Advantageous)
- Relevant certifications such as:
- API (e.g., API 510 / 570 / 653)
- ASNT / NDT Level certifications
- CSWIP or equivalent inspection certifications
Soft Skills

Additional Requirements
- Experience in high-risk environments (industrial sites, oil & gas, large infrastructure projects) is a plus
- Knowledge of HSE regulations and international safety standards
