Context
As part of a major railway project, we are seeking a Railway Equipment Expert to intervene during the Preliminary Design (APS) phase. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out the technical studies related to railway equipment, coordinating the interfaces between the various railway systems, and ensuring that the proposed solutions comply with the project’s standards and requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Define the railway equipment requirements according to the project requirements and operational constraints.
• Carry out the Preliminary Design (APS) studies related to railway equipment.
• Ensure technical coordination with track, signaling, telecommunications, overhead catenary, and operations specialists.
• Identify, analyze, and manage the interfaces between the different railway systems.
• Verify the compliance of the studies and technical solutions with the applicable railway standards.
• Prepare calculation notes, technical notes, and engineering documents associated with the Preliminary Design (APS) studies.
• Participate in technical meetings and multidisciplinary design reviews.
• Propose optimized technical solutions ensuring the performance, safety, and maintainability of the equipment.
• Identify technical risks and contribute to the implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure the consistency of the railway equipment with the other infrastructure components.
Required Profile
• Degree in Railway Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of specific experience in railway studies and railway equipment.
• Proven experience on passenger rail, freight rail, metro, tramway, or high-speed rail (HSR) projects.
• Good knowledge of railway standards, regulations, and technical reference frameworks.
• Experience in Preliminary Design (APS) studies and/or railway infrastructure design.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent analytical, coordination, and technical report writing skills.
