Context
As part of railway infrastructure development and modernization projects, we are seeking a Railway Operations Expert to intervene during the Preliminary Design (APS) phases. The candidate will be responsible for defining future operating scenarios, assessing the operational performance of the proposed developments, and ensuring the consistency of the technical choices with passenger and freight operational requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Analyze current and future railway operations requirements for passenger and freight traffic.
• Carry out railway capacity studies and assess the performance of the proposed network.
• Develop different operating scenarios and analyze their operational impacts.
• Define the principles of traffic management and train operations organization.
• Assess the robustness, fluidity, and performance of the proposed development solutions.
• Participate in defining the functional requirements related to railway operations.
• Contribute to operational studies and multicriteria analyses of project alternatives.
• Identify operational constraints and propose optimization solutions.
• Ensure coordination with the track, signaling, telecommunications, rolling stock, and infrastructure teams.
• Prepare operations reports, technical notes, and Preliminary Design (APS) documents.
• Participate in technical meetings and multidisciplinary design reviews.
Required Profile
• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of specific experience in railway operations.
• Significant experience on conventional railway, high-speed rail (HSR), passenger rail, or freight rail projects.
• Strong expertise in railway capacity studies, performance assessment, and train traffic management.
• Good knowledge of railway systems and their interactions with operations.
• Experience in preliminary design studies (APS/APD) and operational planning.
• Excellent analytical, coordination, and technical report writing skills.
• Ability to work in complex multidisciplinary environments.
