Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules for major road and infrastructure projects. Working closely with project managers and site teams, the Planning Engineer will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements and project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Prepare baseline schedules, recovery plans, look-ahead schedules, and progress updates.
- Monitor project progress and analyze schedule performance against planned milestones.
- Identify potential delays, assess project risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project managers, technical office, procurement, and construction teams to ensure schedule alignment.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.
- Perform critical path analysis, resource loading, and productivity analysis.
- Monitor project deliverables and ensure compliance with contractual deadlines.
- Support project cost control by integrating planning with project budgets and resource allocation.
- Review subcontractor schedules and monitor their progress.
- Assist in the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis when required.
- Ensure planning activities comply with company procedures and client requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in Saudi Arabia.
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer on major roads and infrastructure projects.
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6; proficiency in Microsoft Project is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Experience working on highways, roads, bridges, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Saudi standards and GCC construction practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with project controls, earned value management, and delay analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking).
