Position Overview
We are seeking a Procurement Engineer to support the successful delivery of major railway infrastructure projects across the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of engineering materials, railway systems, equipment, and subcontracted services while ensuring compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, budget constraints, and delivery schedules.
Working closely with engineering, construction, commercial, and project controls teams, you will play a key role in securing high-quality products and services that contribute to the timely and successful execution of complex railway infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle for railway infrastructure projects, from sourcing to final delivery.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and tender documentation.
- Evaluate technical and commercial bids in collaboration with engineering and project teams.
- Conduct supplier qualification and prequalification processes.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure the technical compliance of procured materials and equipment.
- Track procurement schedules to ensure the timely delivery of critical project items.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delays, quality concerns, and contractual disputes.
- Maintain procurement records and prepare regular procurement progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience within railway, transportation, or large infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, or railway operators is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of international procurement standards, contract management, and sourcing best practices.
- Experience procuring railway systems, civil works materials, MEP equipment, signaling, telecommunications, trackwork, or rolling stock components.
- Professional certification such as CIPS is considered an advantage.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
