Role Overview
As part of a strategic port and free zone development project in Libya, we are seeking a senior Engineering Manager to oversee all technical and engineering activities.
The Engineering Manager will ensure the proper coordination of multidisciplinary engineering functions, guaranteeing that all technical deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards, and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all engineering disciplines involved in the project (civil, mechanical, electrical, marine, infrastructure).
- Ensure technical consistency and integration across design and execution phases.
- Review and validate engineering deliverables, specifications and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with project management, contractors and external consultants.
- Monitor engineering schedules, budgets and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and contractual requirements.
- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support decision-making processes on technical matters at project level.
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mandatory).
- Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience in engineering.
- At least 5 years in a similar managerial role, preferably in large-scale infrastructure, port, industrial or free zone projects.
- Strong experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Relevant professional certifications in engineering or project management are considered an advantage.
- Ability to operate in complex international environments.
