Context
For a major Oil & Gas project in Iraq, ProjecTTech is looking for an experienced Lead Project Controls professional to manage planning, progress monitoring, and reporting activities across all site subcontractors.
The role requires strong leadership capabilities, advanced planning expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a demanding international project environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and implement planning and progress measurement procedures for all site subcontractors.
- Ensure contractual documents are properly used to establish the planning baseline, detailed schedules, and progress measurement system.
- Develop, consolidate, and monitor the overall project schedule.
- Manage subcontractors’ planners throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Monitor actual progress against baseline schedules and identify delays, critical paths, and schedule risks.
- Implement corrective actions and recovery plans when required.
- Coordinate with the Procurement team to monitor equipment and material shipments and assess their impact on the project schedule.
- Consolidate subcontractors’ progress data and ensure consistency and reliability of information.
- Prepare and present project progress reports, dashboards, forecasts, and schedule analyses to Management.
- Supervise and coordinate Quantity Surveyors on site.
- Ensure effective coordination between planning, construction, procurement, and subcontractor teams.
Technical Skills
- Advanced expertise in Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and Project Controls methodologies.
- Excellent understanding of baseline schedules, critical path analysis, schedule forecasting, and recovery planning.
- Proven ability to manage and challenge subcontractor schedules.
- Good understanding of contractual requirements and their impact on planning and progress monitoring.
- Experience with construction progress and quantity monitoring.
- Strong reporting and project performance analysis capabilities.
- Fluent professional English is mandatory.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
- Significant experience in Project Controls and Planning within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proven experience as Lead Planner, Planning Manager, Lead Project Controls Engineer, or in a similar position.
- Strong experience managing planning activities involving multiple construction subcontractors.
- Previous experience on major international Oil & Gas projects is highly desirable.
- Experience working on site in Iraq or comparable international environments would be an advantage.
- Ability to supervise planners and Quantity Surveyors in a multicultural environment.
