Context
As part of the development of a new engine manufacturing facility in Algeria, we are looking for a Plant Manager responsible for the overall management of the site’s industrial and economic performance.
Reporting to General Management and as a member of the Management Committee, you will manage production operations, quality, maintenance, logistics, safety, and economic performance. You will also ensure the site’s compliance with Algerian regulations and applicable industrial standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and manage the industrial strategy and site performance objectives.
- Supervise machining and assembly lines and optimize manufacturing flows.
- Ensure the achievement of production, quality, safety, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Manage and structure the production, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams.
- Develop team skills and maintain a constructive social climate.
- Develop and manage operating and investment budgets OPEX/CAPEX.
- Monitor performance indicators: OEE, scrap rate, manufacturing costs, and productivity.
- Deploy continuous improvement approaches: Lean, 5S, and Kaizen.
- Ensure compliance with occupational safety requirements and Algerian environmental regulations.
- Ensure production compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Represent the plant before local authorities, inspection bodies, and industrial partners.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in managing an industrial production site.
- Strong knowledge of engine machining and assembly processes.
- Proficiency in industrial performance and flow optimization challenges.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in OPEX/CAPEX budget management.
- Management of industrial indicators: OEE, scrap rate, costs, and productivity.
- Proficiency in Lean, 5S, and Kaizen approaches.
- Good knowledge of HSE requirements and Algerian environmental regulations.
Candidate Profile
- Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, industrialization, or equivalent field.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in managing an industrial production site.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Plant Manager position.
- Experience in industrial environments with high production, quality, and performance requirements.
- Fluent Arabic and fluent French.
- Technical or fluent English strongly recommended.
