Context:
The Heat Exchanger Project Manager oversees projects involving heat exchangers (oil/water, steam, air, etc.) from design through to delivery. They ensure compliance with technical, budgetary, and scheduling requirements, coordinate internal and external teams, and act as the technical focal point for both clients and suppliers.
Main Responsibilities
Technical Leadership and Project Management

Plan, coordinate, and monitor all project activities.

Lead technical reviews with engineering offices, suppliers, and clients.

Ensure technical, financial, and scheduling consistency of deliverables.

Develop and track the manufacturing schedule (engineering milestones, procurement, welding, testing, inspection, shipping).

Identify and manage technical and contractual risks.
Internal and External Coordination

Coordinate activities between engineering, procurement, quality, production, and logistics departments.

Serve as the primary contact for the client regarding all heat exchanger matters (reporting, progress, changes, non-conformities).

Oversee subcontractors: validate drawings, ensure document and regulatory compliance (PED / RCC-M).
Technical and Quality Follow-up

Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ASME, RCC-M, CODAP, PED).

Monitor QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) performance indicators.

Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and quality inspections at the workshop.

Supervise the compilation of manufacturing and compliance documentation (DMR, MDR).
Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing

Suggest improvements to internal processes and design methods.

Contribute to technical knowledge retention and sharing on heat exchanger projects.

Participate in feedback and lessons learned (REX) for future projects.
Profile Required
Education
-
Engineering degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in Mechanical, Thermal, or Energy Engineering.
Experience
-
5–10 years of experience in industrial project management, ideally involving pressure equipment, thermal systems, or rotating machinery.

Experience in nuclear, oil & gas, or energy environments is a plus.
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of heat exchangers and heat transfer principles (minimum 2 years of experience on similar projects).

Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and P&IDs.

Skilled in manufacturing follow-up and document management.
-
Proficient with project planning and reporting tools (MS Project, Excel, etc.).
