Context
As part of a large-scale port operations and management project in Libya, the company is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support cost management, contract administration, and commercial control activities. This position requires a solid technical and contractual background within infrastructure, maritime, or major construction environments.
Position Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project quantities, cost tracking, contract compliance, and financial monitoring to ensure the project is delivered within approved budgets and contractual frameworks. The role involves close coordination with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Measure and value works executed on site
- Monitor project costs and budget allocations
- Review and certify contractor payment applications
- Evaluate variations, change orders, and claims
- Assist in contract administration and interpretation
- Conduct cost analysis and reporting
- Support procurement and tender evaluation processes
- Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Ensure compliance with contractual and financial procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline)
- Minimum 10 years of overall professional experience
- Minimum 5 years in a similar Quantity Surveyor role
- Experience in large infrastructure, port, maritime, or industrial projects is strongly preferred
