Role Context
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) with a strong background in claims management, variations, and FIDIC contracts to support large-scale infrastructure projects in Riyadh. The role requires in-depth contractual and commercial expertise to ensure effective cost control, claim preparation, and contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer variations, change orders, and claims in accordance with FIDIC conditions
- Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate contractual claims, including EOT and cost-related claims
- Maintain accurate records of variations, instructions, and contractual correspondence
- Support the preparation of interim and final accounts
- Perform contractual and commercial risk assessments
- Coordinate with planning, cost control, and project teams for claim substantiation
- Ensure compliance with FIDIC Red/Yellow Book provisions and project contract requirements
- Assist in dispute resolution, negotiations, and claim settlements
- Prepare commercial reports and summaries for management and client review
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction Management
- 8–15 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure projects
- Proven experience handling claims and variations on FIDIC-based contracts
- Experience on mega or giga projects is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of contractual, commercial, and cost management principles
- Ability to work in high-pressure, contract-driven environments
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of FIDIC contract forms
- Strong expertise in claims preparation, variations, and contract administration
- Good understanding of planning and delay analysis interfaces
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage
